Product Description The adventures of golden retriever pup napoleon and his friend the parrot birdo lucci. Studio: Tcfhe/mgm Release Date: 02/12/2008 Run time: 81 minutes Rating: G Director: Mario Andreacchio
Amazon.com This live-action feature follows the adventures of a golden retriever puppy who chafes under his given name of "Muffin" (much preferring his own choice of "Napoleon") and who travels through the Australian outback in search of his canine roots. Plopping, as puppies will do, into a basket suspended by balloons one day, Napoleon drifts from the home of his mother and human family, eventually landing on the rocky shore of Sydney Harbor. There he becomes acquainted with a chatty parrot named Birdo Lucci (say the name aloud, you film buffs) and encounters all manner of animals in the wild: a cagey koala, a maternal kangaroo, an irritated lizard, and the dingoes with whom he wants to bond. The film was produced with an eye toward pleasing young audiences practically anywhere on earth, and the sight gags and visual thrills have a broad, universal appeal, while the many creatures in this film are given human voices on the soundtrack (any language would do, but the English-language actors include Joan Rivers and Dame Edna). On the downside, the dialogue can be a bit coarse ("shut up," "stupid," that sort of thing), though it's never obscene. And while no animals were hurt during the making of the movie, some of them certainly look as if they're placed in stressful situations. --Tom Keogh

Baby loves this video August 9, 2008 Michele Houghton This video was a God-sent one, as we traveled up north this weekend and our 12 month old was captivated and content watching Nepolean over and over again (she loves dogs!) during the 6 hour trip. The dog's voice is soothing and the video is action packed for little ones. Napoleon saved our long trip and has a new admirer: our Natalie.
Great Movie February 24, 2008 Albert J. Schubring IV (HandyAl.com) After my daughter borrowed this from the library and watched it four times (and would have watched it twenty) I knew we had to get our own copy. It is good enough that it will keep an adult interested also- at least for the first viewing.
the best movie i have ever seen July 14, 2007 Wendy Patent (little rock) this movie is great for adults and kids. its a wonderful story about a puppy that goes out see the world. his adventures get him in some trouble and teaches great lessons. after all is done, he just wants to get back home. very cute.
Napoleon June 26, 2007 Mary Young (Melvin Village, New Hampshire United States) Wonderful wonderful movie. Two days later I am still thinking about the movie and telling everyone. It was shown on Showtime and not everyone subscribes to Showtime. So I decided to search for it on Amazion for my very own copy. Great to have in your back pocket for unexpected kiddy guests etc.
